Doesn't part of the problem concern WHO gains & WHO loses in the
short & long terms?  The Reaganoids, Thatcherits, and the IMF
push programs that benefit the elite in the short-term, hurt the
majority in the short-term, and promise benefits for everyone
in the long-term.  Of course many are dead by the time the
long run comes, due to cutbacks in medical care & the like...
Or does the long run ever come? (BTW, the application of
Reaganism in the already-rich countries involves many fewer
deaths than in the third world.)
