On Keynes
Paul writes,
Ric: I'm not sure there is a problem. Long-run sustainable growth requires
short-run sustainable growth. The environment is a stock-flow problem of short-
term dimensions!
Ok, I see what your saying. But I'm still worried about short-run fixes
that do not lead to long-run sustainable growth. And the type of policies
I've seen in the 1970s-1990s show politically motivated short-run fixes
that are not leading to long-run sustainable growth. Now I would imagine
that you would agree with this arguing that the type of short-run decisions
that have been made, particulary in the 1980s, are not the type of policies
that are actually the best for the short-run or the long-run.
