Relative merits of game theory
Regarding this week's deliberations on the relative contributions of
game theory, it might be good to consider that game theory has made an
impact on social science theory outside of economics -- cooperation vs.
competition dynamics, negotiation specifically. If a "good" theory is
to be both extensive and intensive, game theory appears to be extensive
in ways that do not seem to have occured with "mainstream" economic
theory.
