You may have gotten replies by private email, but in case not: I'm
not sure of a Richard T. Ely lecture, but Leontief gave a
Presidential Address to the 83rd AEA meeting, Detroit, on December
29, 1970, called "Theoretical Assumptions and Nonobserved Facts."
Its in the AER March 1971, vol. 61, no. 1, pp. 1-7.
