Two points from Herb Gintis.

1) He usually blames the loser for losing. Wow. When the winners have
wealth, political power, the means of production (including the
production of consciousness), etc., in hand and the losers don't, is it
just the quality of ideas that matter? Is this what happens when an
analyst forgets about class?

2) He's proud when his students don't know his politics. Wow, again. I'm
not saying we should live our lives quivering with moral outrage, but if
someone can keep one's opinions on fundamental matters of life and
politics under wraps, you've got to wonder how deeply and intensely those
opinions are held. I certainly don't mean you should preach or
propagandize to students; one can fairly present all sides of a matter -
but still make it clear where one is coming from.
