comparative systems reading list

My wife's teaching comparative systems (undergrad) next term and
she'd appreciate input re useful texts.  Has anyone found anything
that's particularly helpful from a pedagogic standpoint?  Nothing
too technical or too dumbed-down.  Christine hasn't got round to
getting an E-mail account here yet (we're the last of the Luddites),
so I'm forwarding any information that comes through over the PKT
