Re: the Fed and NPR
The whole issue of "seignorage" was
initially raised because of a discussion
about why Japan did not want the yen to
be an international medium of exchange.
They have tradtionally wanted to run
"beggar thy neighbor" policies and have
succeeded. Right now everything is
topsy-turvy however.
