EEA Conference Papers
Dear PKTers,
Tamara Perkins in her message asking for EEA conference papers raised
the possibility of a service that pkt might be able to provide to its
members. First, would people be interested in having the EEA program
put in the pkt archives before the conference, so people could take
a look to see who is on the program, the name of the sessions and papers?
Second, Should we invite people who present papers at the EEA to put
their papers in the archives before and after the EEA meeting so people
can have access to the papers? Since most of the papers presented are
working papers this would fit quite nicely with the purpose of the archives.
I've talked to Hal Hochman, the editor of EEJ, and John Adams,
the vice-president-elect of the EEA, and all this is possibility if there's
an interest.
The third issue is having mini-conferences over pkt. At the EEA there were
some mini-conferences on New-Keynesian Economics, Dissident Economists,
The Role of Money in Value/Price Theory, etc. The idea is that we would
announce a topic over pkt ask people to submit a page or two on their
thoughts about the issue and then after people had a chance to read the
short papers to have a discussion for a week or so. At the end I would
organize the papers and discussion and put it in the arhcives under the
title of the mini-conference. These are just some ideas. Let me know
what you think of these ideas and any other ideas you might have for
pkt and what it can offer. Again, pkt and the archives are here for us.
