re: Graduate Programs
The graduate economics program at Colorado State combines a solid core with
maximum discretion for students to form their fields and dissertation topics.
History of thought and critical theory dissertations are acceptable. For
example I have directed disserations comparing Marxian and Catholic
doctrines on private property; the economic crisis as a cultural crisis;
pathological economic growth; the Budapest School's radical democracy; Karl
Polanyi's protective response in relation to international economic relations;
Hayek's political economy; and so on.
The dept's doctoral students are well represented in heterodox organizations
and journals, such as AFFE/JEI, ASE/ROSE, AFIT.
On the faculty are me UOkla(OIE), Steve Shulman--UMass, Ron Phillips, UTx when
there was still a lot of heterodox influence. Terry Ozawa Columbia is
interested in political economy and the international economy. Plus 2 faculty
(Bob Kling UKansas and Alexandra Bernasek UMich) who are increasingly
interested in heterodox econs. Though presently in admin, Bob Keller UWisc is
also interested in heterodoxy.
Those interested contact:
