Maybe, this equilibrium versus dynamic issue is part of the way that
knowledge advances in a manner similar to a Taylor series expansion.
We get the first term of the series, a constant, then the second
term, a variable, then the term that reflects change in that variable,
then the term that reflects change in the change. Too mathematical
a parable?
