The archives of PKT

Dear PKTers,

I would like to invite discussion about how we might make greater use of
the archives of PKT. We have plenty of room to include syllabi, class
handouts, data sets, bibliographies, working papers, etc. Here are some
of the ideas I have:

1) We could have a list of different post keynesian economists with a brief
biography of the economists and then an up to date bibliography of the
persons writings. People like Sidney Weintraub, Joan Robinson, Hy Minsky,
G. Harcourt, Paul Davidson, Ed Nell, Ken Galbraith, etc.

2) I would like to see us share class syllabi both for undergraduate and
graduate classes in all areas of economics. Marco, Labor, History of Thought,
Public Finance etc. People like Gary Langer have written excellent class
syllabi and we can all benefit how they bring post keynesian issues and
thought into the class room. For example, Tom Asimakopulos gave me a copy
a few years back of his graduate syllabus for macro economics that I think
we could all learn from, so we could put that in a file for post keynesian
syllabi.

3. I would like us to have a serious and comprehensive archive of working
papers. One of the benefits of coordinating pkt is that I have received a
number of working papers ( I'm still trying to respond to them all) and this
would provide, especially young authors an opportunity to share their work
and get some feedback. The paper would stay in the working paper area until
it becomes published and then for copy right reasons we would take out of
the archives. But there are many insightful working papers that because of
ideological reasons of the different journals never get published and this
way the ideas would be out there for the public to benefit from.

4. I would like to see a file that describes the different graduate programs
from different countries that offer heterodox economic programs. This is
something that could be kept up to date and referred to for those thinking
about graduate school.

These are just some examples and I would like you to share your thoughts
about these suggestions or any suggestions you might have for pkt and the
use of its archives. Paul Davidson hit on something that the message of
heterodox economics might not be getting out there in our undergraduate
and graduate classes. I would like to see pkt as a source of information
for our young economists. both in the undergraduate level as undergraduate
research is being pushed and the graduate schools.
