Re: Happy Holidays!
Just a note which follows the commoditisation of marx the other day. I ws not
so much concerned witht he size of the box but by the fact that marx was seen
as a xmas comomodity. I should add that I see the essential non-orthodox
paradigm as originating from Marx with keynes a relatively lesser and
more bourgoise contributer. But that is not my point here.
At this time of the year when xmas cheer abounds, a person like myself really
thinks hard about the ideological basis of life. Being a marxist economist, for
example. What does this all mean when some of your PK mates are bloating themselves on
food and drink when millions starve, and are consuming vast amounts of
capitalist output when millions have not even adequate housing and clothing.
Its a worry.
Being neither a christian nor a particularly positive member of the capitalist
society, I think I will just hang about the beach over the xmas days and enjoy
the 35 degree aussie summer and soak up the beauty that nature provides, rather
than look for it in the tinsel of capitalism. Any one want to join me? Happy
new year, at least I can extend those greetings.
