History of Economics Society

The Twenty-first annual meeting of the History of Economics Society (HES)
will be held on the lovely campus of Babson College (Babson Park,
Massachusetts [ 12 miles from Logan Airport, Boston] commencing at 4:30
pm June 10 and ending at noontime on June 13, 1994. Special events include
a step back in time by visiting Isaac Newton's study-room from London, and
two "recollections and thoughts" luncheons. Proposed session topices include
"Pre-Renaissance Economic Thought South  of the Pyrannes," "Scientists at the
Mint: Copernicus, Newton, Lock and the Coinage," French Economic Thought:
Contributions to Analysis" "Gottfried Haberler and the Austrian School,"
"The Methodology of Econometrics," "Those Who Would Expand the Scope of
Economics: Kenneth Boulding's Contribution," and "Bretton Woods After Fifty
Years: Was Keynes Correct After All?"

HES, in assoication with Edward Elgar Publishers, Ltd., will publish an
annual conference volume. The editorial committee for the Conference volume
will give special consideration to papers that refer (if only in passing)
to the following theme: "Reassessing the _History_of_Economic_Analysis
Forty years Later: What Did Schumpeter Get Right About Our Subject and What
Did Schumpeter Get Wrong?

The custom of the Society is to respect and honor as many requests, proposals
and ideas about participating on the program as is practically possible. Please
