  Polls taken by an independent western group before the elections show that Ahmadinejad was leading by slightly more than in the official results that are supposed to be rigged. Mousavi announced that he had won even before Ahmadinejad was declared to be winning!

  In my opinion the struggle in Iran is between two elites Rafsanjani on one side with Khatami, and Khameni with Ahmadinejad on the other:

    Even the BBC finally recognises this struggle as at least part of what is going on. Rafsanjani actually heads a group that can theoretically depose the Supreme Leader.
