I'm not disputing that conventional HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) can do the job. What though I am saying is that current power grid needs to be replaced. And super conducting power lines would be an obvious candidate to start building as a trial to replace the capacity limitations of the current technology. But as in anything costs rule. I'm not going to post any more articles. The argument ought to be as you stated the costs merits of what is to be done.
