Perhaps I should clarify: what I meant is *every* occupation or
activity is special in its own way. It is a bit silly (not to mention
vulgarly capitalistic) to compare two activities without taking into
account their specific historicities, cultural contexts etc. It is
apples and oranges.

And of course sex is especially special in one way: most people spend
a lot more time thinking about sex than being greeted at WalMart!

The same can be said for, say, food. Food is special. It is simply not
the same as other commodities like tennis balls or something in its
cultural meanings etc.
