between years, we get:
2001 4.4% (growth from 2000)
2002 -9.4%
2003 -2.2%
2004 4.7%
2005 -16.1%
2006 -3.4%
2007 -14.7%
2008 -7.6%
almost a 15% fall going from 2006 to 2007!!
