if pot were legalized and totally unregulated, that profit would go
away. The stuff grows almost everywhere, on the side of the road,
etc., since it's literally a weed.

A friend from Chile told me that (back in the 1960s), pot was free
because of this. Interestingly, not that many people smoked it. It was
a upper-class kid's sin (and he was rich). Working-class Chileans
sneered at upper-class pot-twits and avoided the stuff. Maybe this
explains why the rich supported Pinochet....
