This reminds me of a likely apocryphal story of the early days of the
Cuban revolution. Castro and the boys were really tired from
revolutionizing. Fidel asked "who here is an economist"? Che said "I
am!", because he misheard it as "who here is a communist"? He became
head of the Bank of Cuba as a result.

As I said, it's likely not true.
