Atheism literally means "without [a] God." Because the "world" is
"everything that is the case" there can be no "stance" that is
"outside the world." The assertion of something "outside the world"
is precisely the dominant "illusion of life." To it people have the
*strongest* attachment, *religious* attachment. By showing that
"God" is not the case, Buddhism is antidote to that illusion.

Atheism as socialist have meant the word is a 'materialism'. As Ravi
points out about Heidegger the sense of nothing but material being is
atheism. Hence the point of Nothingness to Heidegger.
