IMHO, Sustainability is a tainted concept - as it is currently 
understood (and I work for a University where "sustainability: has 
become a central focus) it is NOT about sustaining humanity and the 
Earth by establishing a harmonious, instead of exploitative,  
relationship between humans and nature (here Hegel's Philosophy of 
History read through the lens of Marx is especially instructive) but 
about sustaining profits for corporate Capitalism under dramatically 
altered conditions.  It should be rejected by any critical social science.
