This is another misperception: you cannot alienate your friends by
contradicting them. If you are right and your friend is wrong, then
you are doing a service to your friend and, hopefully, your friend
will see that. And if your friend fails to see that, what can you do?
You say it a few times and you stop.

But, if you keep contradicting your friend without noticing that you
are wrong, what can your friend do other then telling you once or
twice that you are wrong? Eventually, your friend will stop too, if he
sees you as a friend.
