These two points perfectly summarise my disappointment and fear. We
are witness to the largest mass gathering (both for the campaign and the celebration of its success) ... but brought together and motivated by, in aid of, what? Is there more than words such as "change", "hope" and the triumph of a leader with the carefully cultivated personality and politics? The answer (to the question: is there more?) seems to be a fairly certain "no". For within the period of an election campaign, we have (or seem to believe we have) gone from "We shall overcome, one day" to "At last (my love has come along)". Comment
The majority voting workers, layers of the middle class, a section of the
bourgeoisie - Warren Buffet, voted for whom they thought can protect their
individual and collective interest. Sure, fear is a very real thing. You are
correct in my way of thinking. "from "We shall overcome, one day" to "At
last (my love has come along)" is positively brilliant summation. The black
aspect of the President is a quantitative boundary that had to be crossed. "At
Last."
All classes and most certainly the workers are demanding government provide
economic relief.
Wait until "We Shall Not Be Moved" is dusted off.
