Your contributions to Pen-L are what he (indirectly) was questioning  
in the first place.  I like JD fine as a writer and someone whom  
disagreement can be fruitful.  I can't say you would budge to do that  
example except in rare circumstances.  However, since you are a sort  
of star you get privileges for not contributing much intellectually  
most of the time.  So another weakness of the format of the list.   
Often commented on by various people also.  if you are bored with my  
comments it's odd you want to say something like the above.  I think  
like most such affectations it's just the form that counts not the  
content.
