A friend sent me this email and link this morning. I think anyone who cares should watch it and pass it on. Dan Scanlan --------------------------------- You may be aware that Harold Pinter died yesterday. Reading that brought to mind the monumental address that he gave upon receiving the Nobel prize. I dug through my library and found my video of it and watched it once again. From the perspective the subsequent history I was even more moved than before at hearing this unparalleled outcry of moral conscience. I checked the web and found that there's a copy at: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5779318336871023559&hl=en I URGE you to watch this "sermon." It will require your full attention. (Bear in mind, the first 5 minutes is an artifice that he devised to use the opportunity of thanking the Nobel comittee for his prize in literature in order to set the stage for what he really wanted to say to the world.)
