(D Henwood briefly summarizes two BTN shows back in October.) Poor Doug, that series of episodes must have left you feeling a little burned. You launch a sincere quest to uncover insights about a subject that, important though it may be, you know to be esoteric to the BTN listening audience. So from the get go the chances of pay off are less than stellar. Then, your first guest proves to be a disappointment who balks at your efforts to draw him out on the details. Still, you continue on with a (highly unusual) follow-up show, devoting another interview to someone who appears to be a more useful source. Then it turns out that said source may be a mouthpiece for the financial industry. Damn, that's a thankless journey.
