Lou, thanks for discovering and posting this. As ever, Samir Amin is sharp as a tack.
However, given his Maoist background, he always seems to go easy on the PRC. I think he is correct in refraining from labeling the PRC as a variant on comprador capitalism. But I think he also overstates the extent to which the Chinese monetary and financial system is outside the circuits of global accumulation. He also seems to exempt China from the sort of criticisms one might want to wage against the other G20 members. But anyway, it is inspiring to see Amin keeping on with his particular brand of analyzing and fighting with the long haul in mind.
