Re: [Pen-l] Vietnam keen to further join in Afghan reconstruction

Doyle;
The point of mailing list is not just to discuss ideas. Or debate.
The list accumulates information or knowledge over time. Ulhas is
like many people on many lists who sees something that he thinks is
'noteworthy' of attention. The problem is with 'attention'. LP
'filters' people which to me is ok in some sense but hardly an answer
about debating and discussing.
What do we do with information? A step forward in my view is
connecting information better. Discussing and debating assumes
something happens to the information that is useful. Where is the
unity or resolution of debate? How does one really stimulate a grand
flow of discussion? What are the acceptable parameters of the flow
and why?
The same topic, the same content from different people ought to merge
into one single unified work. Represent the whole community. The
babble of different threads, the lack of cohesion, the socially inept
means of connecting are dreadful features of lists and their failings.
humbug,
Doyle Saylor
