Raghu, you don't understand the educational philosophy in the US.
Following fearless leaders such as Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush,
the idea is destroy the public schools, leaving them as warehouses for
young people and institutions that mostly teach people to (a) obey the
orders of the powerful and (b) be cynical about the possibility of
change, about their peers, etc. On the side, they pick up some basics
such as a bit of reading (not enough to hurt advertising sales),
writing (for filling out forms), and 'rithmetic (in case the
calculator dies).

When you hear the word "education," that usually refers to private
schools. That education includes learning a sense of entitlement.
