For all practical purposes, the US economy amounts to their own finances. <
Sorry about the ambiguity. what I was suggesting is that if the
capitalists are totally global or financial in their orientation, they
don't care at all about the fate of the US economy. Their profits
could come from China, Sri Lanka, or wherever. The US could decline to
being like Guatemala and they wouldn't care. "The capitalists have no
country."
Of course, if the decline of the US economy undermines world law and
order -- and their property and profits -- that's another matter.

Soros is indeed one of those people who tries to speak for the
long-term collective interests of his class.
