Beautiful. Just beautiful. This thread started out with a substantive
discussion of a concrete problem: consumption. And then moved on to a
proposed strategy to deal with that problem: managing without growth,
with a suggestion that Obama might, potentially, be open to a certain
kind of approach: the critique of GDP growth.

But the boys are more interested in parading their "realism" about
politicians. Thanks guys for your deep concern for my welfare and that
of my children and grandchildren. We'll perish from the earth but at
least we "won't be fooled again" by the delusion that anything could
ever change for the better. Please, boys, don't disappoint us by
engaging in a substantive discussion of Dying of Consumption.
