and what about the fact that we have heard nothing about the secretary of labor--it is pretty revealing that this will once again be a real second level position.  A strong pick made early would have made a real statement about Obama's commitment to build a new economy on new foundations.

Those are not good picks - especially Summers. But I'd still like to see what their policies look like. As it stands today, there are far too many people in that economic team.

In any case, it is important to recognize the constraints Obama has. He can't do everything even if he wants to. It is up to progressive activists to create the popular sentiment that will make true reform possible. Obama offers the opportunity - not the certainty - of  some real progress.
