I think you underestimate the Max factor in reformism. They can easily propose stuff that makes sense. If that is blocked then that increases radical pressures. If they gain traction they are influenced by the left and we can start to set the agenda.


Wonky as Max is he is out of touch with the people in this sense. So our power is with the people and we can focus that more effectively in a climate in which we have a healthy dialogue with reformists who can at least talk to us. He is pretty good person to talk to. If he can't do the job with wonking things we can do they job with a mass movement. Max's weakness is his nationalism. He can't overcome that. We can.
