Glass-Steagall & similar controls can help, but crises are built into
the fabric of capitalism regardless of what the state does. Any given
crisis doubtless could be moderated, postponed, etc, but they will keep
coming in one form or another so long as we live within capitalism (any
form of capitalism).

Under current conditions, leftists in the U.S. have less effect on what
the state does than do high-school cheerleaders on a football game. That
is my reason for being more interested in looking forward to the next
mass movement, and considering how present activity _may_ contribute to
it, then in lengthy arguments over what the u.s. state should do now.
