A pitcher of warm spit, I think - don't know why that's the preferred vessel for carrying one's warm spit around in, but that's what it says in my portable dictionary of quotations.

I agree with Carroll that "a bucket of horseshit" has to be wrong though.  A bucket of horseshit is actually quite valuable as fertilizer - as we discussed on this list a couple of years ago, Professor Martin Weitzman of the Harvard economics faculty was arrested for stealing a trailer-load of horseshit.  It sticks in my mind because of Doug's remark at the time that a Harvard economics prof would be the last person you'd expect to be short of horseshit.
