It would seem that "taking deposits" (from the general public)
identifies a class of institutions that differ importantly from
institutions that do not take deposits, whatever their other
similarities. All classifications have endless fuzzy boundaries.
(Incientally, differentiating and classifying is not the same as merey
defining words.)
