Doyle;
A list cannot decide that is true in my view. But a list can air the arguments and let that take its course. Let me remind you a weakness of this list, the lack of female participation. At what juncture will this problem be resolved?

Sex itself is not a moral issue. The variation of sexuality between us and our cousins the primates indicates that social laws (moral order) do not explain enough of why sex functions as it does to bind us. For example that homosexuality is high frequency in the primates. Taking Carrol's claim, emancipation of sex from procreation, an obvious swipe at Catholic doctrine, to what extent has the emancipation of sex from procreation (abortion rights) advanced the cause of homosexual emancipation? In what way has the left been able to pull itself away from economism to address sexuality? These blanks are filled in by 'principles' that do not do 'justice'.

Admittedly, without a great movement these are just coffee table chatter. So I take no offense at Carrol who I think is a loyal left wing advocate for women's rights. But I don't think these principles even begin to open the door to the emancipation of females.
thanks,
Doyle Saylor
