If you don't think the right-wing pull of the US media has an
influence, have a bunch of conversations with left-liberal Americans
who don't follow world affairs closely about Venezuela. Many of them
think Chavez is a dictator. When you explain to them what Chavez is
actually doing, they're for it. You can thank the Washington Post and
its brethren for that.
