in (partial) defense of the WaPo editorialists, they see their job as
being to disagree with the majority, to inform & educate. In defense
of thye vast majority of Americans but not the majority of Congress,
they don't read WaPo editorials. I'd guess that almost no-one reads
newspaper editorials at all.
