I'm thinking through my next blast at Saint Barry, but I have to say this is one of the less or non- egregious of his heresies. The U.S. social welfare system is shot through with the participation of religious groups, has been forever. People tend to focus on the big income-transfer programs and gloss over the plethora of direct services provided. As a writer on samefacts.com points out, the Bush innovations included providing money to groups for proselytizing or merely to bolster their own political base, both illegal and not on the Obama agenda as far as we know. ----- Original Message ----- |
