RE: [Pen-l] Naomi Klein and Understanding Crises

Of course, there are a lot of Milton Friedmans: the Libertarian who is
skeptical of the criminalization of marijuana, Robert Leeson's Friedman,
who was denounced by Patinkin as a crook for manipulating the truth, the
silly Friedman wrote about methodology, the extraordinary propagandist
who had a marvelous gift for simplifying complex issues.

This annoys me - journalists are not expected to know much about
history or ideas. They just convey personalities and impressions. A
400-page book in which Milton Friedman is a central figure should
show some trace of engagement with his actual intellectual
contribution, shouldn't it?
