Voting that is visible as group voting carries a message. What the
precise message is of the large black vote for Obama I couldn't say, but
it probably does _not_ carry the _same_ message that the white vote for
Obama carries. It is the latter that needs analysis. The black vote is
(I think) clearly anti-racist: i.e. does _not_ indicate a ratifcation of
those parts of Obama's spiel that imply and/or state that the struggle
for equality can be put behind us as accomplished.  The white vote (I
think&) does reflect a "woft" racism -- precisely a wish that there
won't be any more nasty struggles.

But interpreting voting patterns is a mug's game, & I won't defend any
of these positons but both may be worth speculation.
