The homogenization is in the stuff they all consume.

I was in a local Mexican restaurant yesterday watching a Spanish
language soap opera and an advertisement came on for "Honey Bucket of
Oats" cereal.

That kind of 'stuff', and all the detrimental effects that derive from it.
