Another issue is this: Who is going to "declare" officially that the peak oil
has come? For example, in the US it is NBER who declares official recessions
and it is well-known that they do it six to nine months after the fact.


So, here is a correction: it is not all about survival probabilities. It is
also about the beliefs (should I say ideologies) but this is why I said "how
they are estimated" in the above.
