In part. While anarchists come in many varieties (contrast Noam Chomsky
& Chuck Munson), I think it is the most useful label for all tendencies
which emphasize independent small-group activity.* And during the '60s,
there were many who started off as non-violent civil disobedience and
ended moving towards violence. The ideology of Moral Witness permeates a
good deal of small-group activism -- and can easily take either
non-violent or violent form.

*And of course there are self-labelled anarchists who do not fall under
my usage here. But as the poet says, I gotta use words when I talk to
you. :-)
