Re: Economic development = progress?



I am looking for what pen-l thinks these two words mean and if they are connected. I am under the impression that technology and ideology have a supportive ( dialectically) role but am looking for more thoughts

how do you define "economic development"? and "progress"? there's no
way to answer this kind of question without answering these questions.

back when I did economic development econ, people tended to mutter "it
may be growth, but it's not development." yeah, but...
