Documents Regarding the Department of Justice Firings (PDFs)
Source: U.S. Department of Justice
From press release:
The latest round of disclosures from the Department of Justice
raise new and troubling questions about the firing of six United
States Attorneys.
We have just received documents from the Justice Department in the
last hour and are in the process of reviewing them. At a minimum, we
believe these documents show a coordinated effort, initiated by the
White House, to purge every United States Attorney in the country.

Also, I've been banging on a brick wall here about how the overall US
economy is soley and inadequately propped up by trickle-down from
those multi-zillion dollar mil-ind complex weapons systems et al, and
our nation of call-center employees/pizza delivery drivers just pay
dues to that military/monetary industrial complex because delivery
drivers don't pay enough taxes to build a global empire..
Also, the military industrial complex is a self-fullfilling,
self-perpetuating phantasm & an equal opportunity employer as well.
This gentleman, Peter Gowan, seems to agree, and his language may be
more pleasing to the 'economic ear' of those who despise empiricism.
"The military budget has acted as a crucial counter-cyclical fiscal
policy tool in macroeconomic management â a functional alternative to
a large welfare state repertoire of instruments.
Military spending has also acted as an important lever of industrial
policy by offering a protected state market for large industrial
sectors, ranging from aircraft manufacturers like Boeing to the big
car companies and many other, largely civilian sectors, as well as
armaments contractors.
Military spending has also acted as a very important center of state
research and development (R&D) spending, which, though formally
devoted to military R&D (plus "dual use" R&D during the Clinton
period), in reality provides a central mechanism for generating new
high-tech sectors in the national civilian economy.
Military spending has also been an important way of binding the
American South into the American state through the large role of
southerners in the military, the large numbers of U.S. bases in the
South and Sun-Belt states, and the significant military-industrial
activity in the South/Sun-Belt (in addition to California)."
