To my knowledge, FR is the only Marxist-Leninist outfit in which a
Black man doesn't get vastly outnumbered by white guys.  (I don't know
why FR has done better than the others in this respect.)  No
self-respecting Black man, or woman for that matter, wants to join a
leftist org where he or she becomes a tiny minority (again after
work).

I think that's the main reason Stan joined FR rather than another org
(he says as much in his parting essay, too).
