Hah! I quit both the DP & smoking cold turkey. The DP after the invasion
of the Dominican Republic, smoking after my physician said I had
embryonic emphysema. Never looked back on either act. I grew up in a
household where FDR was god, and had enthusiastically voted _for_
Johnson (not merely against Goldwater) in '64; I had smoked (heavily)
for 40 years. After the invasion I even wrote Senator Paul Douglas a
letter insisting that "my" party had been stolen from me.!!!!
