I wouldn't hold my breath. Just yesterday the Senate flushed a big chunk of the constitution down the toilet without even bothering to wipe their asses afterwards, and they are in a hurry to get business of America done (and currently, that business is genocide) so they can go on vacation.


There are posters up around town for mass demonstrations on October 5... Headlined as "No More Business As Usual". I would suggest that approach will be much more effective than whining to our elected representatives. Their minds are already made up, and any one of them that supports an anti-war position is in a teeny tiny minority with no power to change the course of events AT ALL.

I would wholeheartedly suggest that sitting-in their office when they come home to meet their constituents and refusing to leave *is* an effective method, and calling or writing them is anachronistic and absolutely ineffectual... Sort of like the "left" itself.

Phone calling your way to political change only works if you have the right phone numbers (unlisted) and more importantly, the right friends in political power. The anti-war element of American society has neither.
